The Legend of Roro Jonggrang Prambanan 2024 Calendar of Event

 

The Javanese legend of Roro Jonggrang tells a tragic love story set against the backdrop of magnificent temples. Princess Roro Jonggrang is forced to marry a conquering prince, Bandung Bondowoso, but outsmarts him by demanding the impossible task of building a thousand temples in one night. Her trickery backfires when she's cursed into a statue within one of the temples, while the remaining structures become testaments to their love and loss.
